Beginning the New Journey: "Farther Up and Farther in!"
January 5th marked new watershed for Christ Church Anglican as it celebrated the installation of Fr. Brian Miller and Deacon Nan by Bishop John Guernsey. One hundred and fifty-five people filled the Blaine Center to participate in the service on January 5th - including visiting clergy and families visiting in the area.Bishop Guernsey began the weekend with a Friday night teaching for the parish community. He brought greetings from fellow parishes in Uganda, Archbishop Orombi, and his church in Woodbridge, Virginia. He spoke about the testimony Christ Church has been to others in the Anglican Communion and the example it has been to other Anglican Churches in America. "I brag about you all the time," he said, "you've been an encouragement to other parishes led by the laity to stand up for their Faith."

Fr. Brian Miller and his Family to Butte
After a long pastoral search, Christ Church Anglican is excited to announce that Father Brian Miller has answered the call to serve our parish in Butte, MT. The Anglican community in Butte celebrates this new shift in ministry from formation of the church body to a new phase of outreach and evangelism in the community.
The Rev. Brian R. Miller grew up in Butte, Montana while attending St. John's Episcopal Church. Early in his college days he met the Lord and felt a calling to serve Him in the Episcopal Church. After graduating from Carroll College with a B.A. in elementary education, he pursued a Masters of Divinity at Trinity Seminary in Ambridge Pennsylvania. He graduated in 2001 and was ordained a priest the same year and first served a church in San Angelo, Texas. Following Texas, Brian has served three small Episcopal parishes in Forsyth, Miles City, and Glendive. He is eager to begin his work in Butte while serving alongside faithful Anglicans.
Brian has been married to his wife Betty for over twelve years and has a six year old daughter Allison, four year old son Adam, and eight month old daughter Emily. Brian is passionate about sharing the saving truth of Jesus Christ in a relational, loving way. He also enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Father Brian and Betty are already known in this community for their gifts of pastoral counsel, outreach to youth, and steadfast love of Christ and the Scriptures. We look forward to their leadership in helping our community to become more Christ-like in our character and more invested in reaching out to all our community in Butte as well as the rest of Montana.
CCA Butte celebrates its beginnings July 1st
Approximately eighty people met last Sunday to celebrate the beginning of the movement for Christ Church Anglican here in Butte, MT. Services were held in the Costin's large old dairy barn, complete with hay bales for the children to sit on in the back. Deacon Nan Joyce presided over the service and invited all to mention what all God had done for them this past year. She encouraged CCA to continue growing in faith, truth, and love for Christ while letting go of the things that hinder our relationship with Him. She also reminded us we must not walk in fear but in the strength of Jesus. Music was provided by several of the music teams with a special appearance of Bea on piano. Many people who had attended the original meeting attended, along with family and friends visiting from different locations in the United States. After a reflective deacon's service, parish members celebrated with a barbecue and great conversation at the Costin's new pole shed.Highlights of the service included letters from DO Smart, Archbishop Orombi, and Christ Church's soon-to-be resident bishop, Rev. Guernsey. The entire letter from Bishop Elect Guernsey appears below:

Article about 1st year at CCA posted on Kendall Harmon's blog
An article by Kay Cook, which she wrote for the MontanaAnglican site has been posted on Dr. Kendall Harmon's site. The article is titled A year's reflection: Celebrating the beginnings of Christ Church Anglican in Montana. From Kendall's site:One of the things this elf [the elfs maintain the blog] has found a very encouraging development in the orthodox Anglican blogosphere is the increase of blogs and websites designed to help encourage and mobilize reasserting Episcopalians and Anglicans at a local level. Montana Anglicans is one such local-level blog. One of their contributors, Kathrine, has just posted her reflections on what it has meant for her family to join Christ Church Anglican in Butte, which is under the oversight of the Province of Uganda.
