Christian Education

Christian Education Report for April 15th, 2007

Christian Education continues to be an essential tool for helping our church maintain its Biblical foundations in Truth and for evangelization of the community. Therefore the goals of Christian Education for Christ Church Anglican are to build a foundation of Biblical Knowledge for the Christian development and to evangelize the community through outreach to children in the community.

As 80% of those who are Christian found salvation under the age of 14, Children's and Youth Ministry is ESSENTIAL for the growth of any church who wants to truly lead their community to Christ.

Our goals for Christian Education are as follows:

1. Nursery and Preschool - help children understand God's love through a nurturing and loving environment. We would like to have an overseer for this portion of the program and something in place as a constant by Fall of 2007.

2. Children's Education - develop Children's understanding of the history and culture of the Bible, and give them opportunities to come to know Christ as their personal savior. We hope to have a children's education program in place by Fall of 2007 for ages K - 6th grade.

3. Youth Education - give Youth the opportunity to apply Biblical knowledge to their lives and culture through Biblical discussions of topics that impact their lives. They also will apply their knowledge through 'Faith in Action' projects. The Grahams and the Costins oversee the Youth. We would like to see a Youth education program, however, in place during the Sunday School program by Fall 2007.

4. Children's Church - provide an opportunity for children to have education on their level during the sermon portion of the church service. Craig Smith oversees this portion of the program.

5. Vacation Bible School - this program would provide opportunities for outreach into the community. We have a program that would like to work with us this Summer to provide backyard Bible programs, however, we are in need of at least 4 backyards in which do this program.

Goals for 2007 - 2008:

1. Review Sunday School Curriculum for our church and find something suitable for the completion of the goals stated above AND consistent with the Anglican character of the church. Have this curriculum available and ready to use by Fall of 2007.

2. Recruitment of teachers who would be willing to teach our children for the following year.

3. Find an advisor for the Nursery/Preschool program who would be willing to make sure the nursery is available for parents for both Sunday School and Church service.
